When Is the UAE National Day Holiday in 2026?

The UAE National Day holiday falls on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 December 2026, the 55th National Day, which is celebrated as Eid Al Etihad. Schools on the Ministry of Education calendar are off from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 December.

The days off can still change: in 2025, private companies were given Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 December, announced on 17 November. Check the announcement for your sector against your package dates before you request leave.

How Much Leave Do UAE National Day Packages Need?

If the holiday stays on Wednesday and Thursday, the packages that leave on Saturday 28 November and are back by Thursday 3 December need just 2 days of leave, Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December. Adding Friday 4 December turns the National Day break into 9 days off in a row, from Saturday 28 November to Sunday 6 December, which is the window the France and Switzerland tour uses, as it comes back on Saturday 5 December.

For the other 6, the airline is confirmed when you book.
