Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Chengdu
- Chengdu, the 3,000-year-old capital of Sichuan Province, is known as the “Land of Abundance” for its rich culture, mild climate, and historic sites.
- It boasts a wealth of local products, a pleasant climate, numerous scenic spots and historical sites, and traditional handicrafts, well known worldwide.
- Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local guide and transferred by private vehicle to your carefully selected Travelwings hotel.
- With the assistance of the guide, check into the hotel (standard time approx 1400 hrs)
- Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Leshan Giant Buddha
- This morning, a pickup is arranged from your hotel and a transfer to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, approximately 10 km from downtown Chengdu.
- This beautifully laid out park is the home of about 80 giant pandas and some other rare animals, such as red panda, black-necked crane, white crane, etc.
- Walk along the well-designed walkways for a good view of giant pandas through the open enclosures.
- Relish a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant.
- In the afternoon, proceed on a 1.5-hour drive to Mt. Leshan to witness the tallest stone Buddha statue in the world.
- Walk along Mt. Leshan trails for unique views of the Giant Buddha.
- Choose to take a cruise (about 30 min) for wonderful mountain views of the Giant Buddha.
- At night, enjoy a traditional opera show as an optional activity at night (show time: 20:00-21:30) .
- Sichuan Opera is characterized by unique solos, refined performance, percussion instruments, and talented comedians.
- In this performance, you can see various unique skills, such as the Facing Changing Show, internationally famous for decades, and the Hands Shadow Show, which is only performed by hands rather than actors.
- Drop off at your hotel in the downtown of Chengdu.

Day 3
Chengdu - Lhasa
People's Park, Kuangzai Alley, Fly to Lhasa
- You will have a leisurely morning in downtown Chengdu.
- Enjoy the Chengdu People's Park, where you will find many locals spending their leisure time.
- We next experience a tea house for a cup of tea while mingling with the locals.
- Proceed to walk around the famous Kuan Zhai Alley, which consists of several ancient streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
- In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for a flight to Lhasa, 'the Land of Gods' in Tibetan, and the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
- Your Tibet tour guide will wait for you at the airport and help you transfer to the hotel.
- Relax at your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4
Lhasa - Potala Palace, Jokhang Monastery, Barkhor Street
- Our guide will meet you at the hotel lobby to explore the Holy City.
- First, visit Potala Palace, the largest monastery of its type in the world and the official home to the Dalai Lama.
- Walk around the Potala Palace clockwise to appreciate those who worship every day and also experience the life of residents.
- Visit the opposite hill for a panoramic view of the Potala Palace, the best photo spot.
- Lunch time at Ganglameduo Restaurant for a local meal.
- In the afternoon, continue to visit Jokhang Temple, where monks receive their official training and education.
- Shopping time at Barkhor Street, a window into Tibetan culture and an opportunity to buy colorful ethnic handicrafts rarely seen outside of Tibet.
- Transfer back to the hotel, en route, you can plan for the night show and ask your guide for some suggestions.

Day 5
Lhasa - Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka Park, Sera Monastery
- Our guide will meet you at the hotel lobby to start the second day trip in Lhasa.
- You will first visit Drepung Monastery, which is one of the three great monasteries in Tibet.
- Continue your tour to Norbulingka, a traditional summer palace and residence of the 7th Dalai Lama onwards.
- Lunch at Tibetan Family Kitchen for local food, especially the Yak meat dumplings.
- In the afternoon, pay a visit to Sera Monastery and witness monks debating in the courtyard behind the main temple.
- Transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time.

Day 6
Departure from Lhasa
- This morning, plan to pack up & check out.
- Free day at leisure before being transferred to the airport for your flight.
