Grand China Discovery Tour 9 Days

Day 1

Welcome to Beijing

• Arrive at Beijing
• Welcome to China’s capital city – Beijing, known as much for modern architecture as its ancient sites, such as the grand
• The Forbidden City complex, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
• Upon arrival at Beijing, you will meet our Travelwings representative, be picked up from the airport, and transferred to your hotel.
• Check in at the hotel (standard time approx 1400 hrs)
• The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2

Visit the Great Wall at Juyong Pass, the Jade Factory, and Photo Stop at Olympic Stadium (Pvt. basis)

• Enjoy breakfast in the hotel.
• Today, we visit the Great Wall of China at Juyong Pass. It is a series of fortifications that were built across the historical northern borders of ancient Chinese states and Imperial China as protection against various nomadic groups from the Eurasian Steppe.
• Later, we visit the Jade factory and take a photo stop at the Olympic stadium.

Day 3

Visit Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, and Forbidden City (Pvt. basis)

• Enjoy breakfast in the hotel.
• Today we visit Tiananmen Square, which is a city square in the city center of Beijing, China, named after the eponymous Tiananmen ("Gate of Heavenly Peace"). It is located to its north, which separates it from the Forbidden City.
• Later, we visit the Forbidden City, which was the political and ritual center of China for over 500 years.
• After which we proceed to the Summer Palace, which is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens, and palaces in Beijing.

Day 4

Welcome to Zhengzhou

• Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer to the airport (train station) for the flight (train) to Zhengzhou
• We then transfer to Dengfeng to visit Shaolin Temple.
• Overnight in Luoyang

Day 5

Luoyang - Xian

• Relish breakfast at the hotel.
• Visit Longmen Grottoes.
• Transfer to the airport (train station) for the flight (train) to Xi'an, arrive in Xi'an, and transfer to the hotel.
• Enjoy the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square with a Fountain Show.
• Overnight in Xian.

Day 6

Welcome to Xian

• Photostop at City Wall. Visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square with the Fountain Show. (Pvt. basis)
• Enjoy breakfast in the hotel.
• Today, we check out and proceed to Xian, an ancient imperial capital and eastern departure point of the Silk Road, which has long been an important crossroads for people throughout China, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
• Upon arrival at Xian, pick-up from the airport/train station is arranged and a transfer to your hotel.
• Check in at the hotel (standard time approx. 1400 hrs).
• In the evening, we proceed for a photostop at the famous City Wall.
• We then visit the Wild Goose Pagoda Square, which attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion and its simple but appealing style of construction.
• We also witness the Fountain Show.
• Beijing – Xian (flight/train not included).
• Optional Cost:
• Beijing-Xian high speed bullet train (5.5hrs) ---2nd class seat – USD 150 per adult/child
• Beijing-Xian high speed bullet train (5.5hrs) ---1st class seat – USD 210 per adult/child

Day 7

Welcome to Shanghai

• Full-day tour to Terracotta. (Pvt. basis) Xian – Shanghai (flight not included).
• Enjoy Breakfast in the hotel.
• This morning, we proceeded on a full-day tour of Terracotta. Visit the Terracotta Warriors and the Crockery Factory.
• The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China.
• It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE with the purpose of protecting him in his afterlife.
• Every soldier is unique; no two are alike, and each has unique and realistic features.
• Later in the evening, we proceeded to the airport to take a flight to Shanghai.
• Upon arrival at Shanghai, pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
• Check in at the hotel (standard time approx. 1400 hrs).

Day 8

Welcome to Shanghai - Shanghai City Tour

• Enjoy breakfast in the hotel.
• Today, we have the city tour of Shanghai, where we visit multiple attractions such as People's Square, Silk Factory, Shanghai Museum, the 88th Floor of the Jinmao Tower, and the Bund area.
• Later, we proceed to Nanjing Road for shopping.

Day 9

Departure

• Today, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
