China Imperial Cities Tour – Beijing, Xi’an & Shanghai

Day 1

Arrival

• Welcome to Beijing! Beijing, known as much for modern architecture as its ancient sites, such as the grand Forbidden City complex, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
• Our representative will greet you at the airport and assist you until you reach your hotel and complete the check-in process
• Free day and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Visit the Great Wall at Juyong Pass, the Jade Factory and Photo Stop at the Olympic Stadium

• Enjoy breakfast at the hotel
• Today, we visit the Great Wall of China at Juyong Pass. The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications that were built across the historical northern borders of ancient Chinese states and Imperial China as protection against various nomadic groups from the Eurasian Steppe.
• Later, we visit the Jade factory and have a photo stop at the Olympic stadium.
• Overnight at the hotel

Day 3

Visit Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace and Forbidden City

• Enjoy Breakfast in the hotel.
• Today we visit the Tiananmen Square, which is a city square in the city centre of Beijing, China, named after the eponymous Tiananmen ("Gate of Heavenly Peace") located to its north, which separates it from the Forbidden City.
• Later, we visit the Forbidden City, which was the political and ritual centre of China for over 500 years.
• We then proceed to the Summer Palace, which is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing.

Day 4

Welcome to Xian

Beijing – Xian (flight/train not included). Photostop at City Wall. Visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square with Fountain Show

• Enjoy Breakfast in the hotel.
• Today, we check out and proceed to Xian, an ancient imperial capital and eastern departure point of the Silk Road, which has long been an important crossroads for people from throughout China, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
• Upon arrival at Xian, pick you up from the airport/train station and transfer you to your hotel.
• Check in at the hotel (standard time approx. 1400 hrs.). In the evening, we proceed to a photo stop at the famous City Wall. We then visit the Wild Goose Pagoda Square, which attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion and its simple but appealing style of construction. We also witnessed the Fountain show.

Day 5

Full Day Tour of Xian

• Enjoy Breakfast in the hotel.
• This morning we proceed for a full day tour of Terracotta, where we witness the Terracotta Warriors and the Crockery factory.
• The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China.
• It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE with the purpose of protecting him in his afterlife. Every soldier is unique; no two are alike, and each has unique and realistic features. Crockery factory, back to the city.
• City wall photo stop and Muslim street shopping.

Day 6

Xian – Shanghai

• Enjoy Breakfast in the hotel.
• Today, we check out and proceed to Shanghai, one of the world's major centres for finance, business, economics, research, science and technology, manufacturing, transportation and tourism.
• Upon arrival at Shanghai, pick up from the airport/train station and transfer to your hotel. Check in at the hotel (standard time approx. 1400 hrs). The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city on your own.
