Welcome to Johannesburg, the “city of gold” and the largest city in South Africa. Upon arrival, board our aircraft for a scenic flight to Mala Mala Game Reserve. It is one of the largest private Big Five game reserves in South Africa and shares an unfenced boundary of 12 miles with the famous Kruger National Park. Located in the unique habitat of the Lowveld region, the region is full of big game, including lions, leopards, and white rhinos. Settle into the comforts of our luxury safari lodge which is situated on the leafy banks of the Sand River. Proceed on your first game drive to embrace the beauty of the ecosystem before our welcome dinner tonight. Stay overnight at the Mala Mala Main Camp or Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge (Dinner).
Relish breakfast and proceed today on an early-morning safari in open vehicles with naturalist guides. Look around to be awe-struck by astounding wildlife at one of its most active times. Return to relax at the camp that offers various amenities before settling down for a delicious lunch. During our late-afternoon game drive, stop for sundowners in the bush to absorb the beauty of South Africa. As night falls the tour continues to explore nocturnal predators on the prowl. Gather for dinner around a large campfire in a reed-enclosed boma. Overnight stay at the Mala Mala Main Camp or Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today after breakfast we board the private aircraft that takes us directly to Mashatu Game Reserve. This is an enormous private reserve located in the remote eastern corner of Botswana. Here you will find a diverse wilderness of savannah, riverine forests, marshlands, open plains, and sandstone outcrops. Proceed on exhilarating morning and evening game drives accompanied by expert guides, and choose two of the following activities: go on a bush walk, join a photographer in a hide to capture close-ups of wildlife (select departures), take a game drive, or mountain bike along elephant trails. We visit the Motloutse Ruins, a significantly rich historical site. Embark on an archaeological journey of the site, in the company of South African archaeologist Grant Hall. Overnight stay at the Mashatu Lodge. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast, we take our next flight over the magnificent wetlands of the Okavango Delta to a tented camp in Moremi Game Reserve. Discover in the next two days this untamed habitat by land and water. The tour includes an exploration by open safari vehicle, and a trip to Gadikwe Island by flat-bottom boat to see hippos and breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans, storks, and cormorants. Overnight stay at Camp Xakanaxa. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today after breakfast we board our aircraft for a flight to Chobe National Park. It is known for its many elephant families and Cape buffalo. Take a fascinating wildlife river cruise and watch for elephants frolicking at the water’s edge using their trunks like snorkels as they swim. We then fly along the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers to Livingstone and check-in at the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel. The amazing stay overlooks The Zambezi River, from where you also get free views of the majestic Victoria Falls. Customise your morning according to your interests: visit a local village or the Livingstone Museum, or head into the Maramba market. Take a canoe safari, or experience the falls from a thrilling perspective on an optional flight-seeing excursion. This afternoon you can explore the falls with a local guide and venture into the mists along suspended walkways. In the evening, enjoy a festive farewell dinner. Stay at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. (Day 8: Breakfast/Lunch; Day 9: Breakfast/Dinner)
