A French-Swiss Affair

Day 1

Welcome to Paris

• Welcome to Paris, the beautiful capital city of France.
• Meet representative who will be awaiting your arrival at the departure gate of the airport.
• Post that you will be transferred to the designated lodging facility in Paris for your check-in.
• The rest of the evening will be at your leisure. Do check out the information on the lobby stand which will highlight the information about the meeting place and start time of the tour.

Day 2

Half Day Versailles Palace Tour

• Day two of the tour will commence early morning with a nice hearty French breakfast at the hotel in Paris.
• Post that, the tour will leave for Versailles, the massive palace of the many ‘Kings of France’.
• After that, the group will return back to the hotel in Paris.
• From there you will board a transfer that will take the tour to the Montmartre district.
• On reaching the destination the group will be ascended to the top of a hill, which will provide a spectacular aerial view of the city of Paris.
• This unique hilltop is home to many local painters, artists and cabarets.
• Sit down for lunch (at your own expense) at the numerous local restaurants that the region has on offer for an awe-inspiring experience of the beautiful surroundings.
• Post that, the tour will embark on a guided tour of the region taking you through the history, boulevards and breathtaking monuments that Paris has to offer.
• In the evening return to the hotel in Paris, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 5

Lyon - Geneva - Zurich

• Day five of the tour will begin with a nice cup of coffee and some scrumptious French breakfast pastries and fresh fruits.
• Post that the tour will embark on the next most scenic and beautiful leg of the journey to the country of Switzerland.
• The arrival will happen in Geneva, post which the local guide will take charge and commence the tour of the “Peace capital”.
• The tour of Geneva will start at the Palais des Nations (the European headquarters of the United Nations), the beautiful “Jardin Anglais” (with its quaint flower clock), and the “Jet d´Eau”, the tallest fountain in Europe.
• Post lunch (at your own expense), the tour will continue travelling through Switzerland via the beautiful Leman, Neuchatel and Biel lakes. A long drive on the scenic road alongside these three lakes, with their magnificent vineyards overlooking the mountains, is a beauty to behold.
• After this we will stop in Neuchatel, where you can enjoy a walk by the lake, the historic town centre or visit its beautiful, 10th-century castle.
• Post that we will head on to Zurich, the arrival happening a bit late in the afternoon.

Note: depending on the number of passengers travelling from Geneva to Zürich, this part of the trip might be done by train - in which case, there will be no stop in Neuchatel.

Day 6

A tour across Zurich

• Day six of the tour will begin with a nice cup of coffee and some delectable Swiss breakfast.
• The Swiss tour will commence with a stroll in the most populated city of Switzerland, Zurich, the financial and cultural capital of the country.
• After this we will board a boat for a tour across Zurich lake.
• The boat makes brief stops, allowing us to admire the villages along the way.
• The drop-off will be at Rapperswil, a small and picturesque village overlooked by its medieval castle.
• The return to Zurich will be via train, which will showcase the efficiency and convenience of the Swiss Railways.
• Enjoy an evening in the historic centre of the city next to the lake, where you can dine at the many restaurants offering an array of different local and international delicacies.

Note: Depending on the number of travelers, the transfers to the center and from the station may be made on public transport.

Day 7

Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich

• Day seven of the tour will begin with a delicious Swiss breakfast at the hotel in Zurich.
• Post that, the tour will take you on a journey across beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes.
• The first stop of the day will be at Grindelwald where you will have time for a coffee before taking the cable car up the mountain.
• The walk along the winding path will lead you to a "footbridge over the empty" over an empty canyon. If you dare to walk along the bridge you will feast your eyes on the most fantastic view of massive glaciers surrounding your vantage point.
• The lunch (included) will happen at the summit before heading down.
• After this, we continue on to Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland.
• In the evening you will have time at your leisure to explore the city and grab dinner (at your own expense), before returning back to the hotel in Zurich.

Day 8

Departure

• The final day of the tour will begin with a healthy International breakfast at the hotel in Zurich.
• Post this you will be transferred to the International Airport in Zurich for your flight back to your home country, with memories of a wonderful journey that would last a lifetime.
